Ayodhya is situated on National Highway 28 and has good connectivity with Kanpur(213 km), Lucknow (127 km), Varanasi (202 km), Prayagraj (161 km) and Gorakhpur (165 km).

NH27 connects Lucknow to Barauni via Ayodhya and Gorakhpur whilst NH330 connects Ayodhya to Prayagraj via Sultanpur. Nawab Yusuf Road connects Ayodhya to Varanasi via Jaunpur, NH330A connects Ayodhya to Raibareli via Kumarganj & Jagdishpur.

Ayodhya Railway Station: The Indian Railways network connects Ayodhya directly with Kanpur (4 hours) Lucknow (3 hours.), Varanasi (4 hours.) and Prayagraj (5 hours).

Ayodhya Superfast Express is a train which runs weekly connecting Ayodhya Junction railway station to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai. It's one of the two trains which runs between Ayodhya to Mumbai the other one is Saket Express which runs twice a week. Few mail express trains also connect Ayodhya to Kolkata, New Delhi and Mumbai.

Ayodhya Junction: Ayodhya Junction is the second major railway station within the Ayodhya city which is situated at south end of the city.

Acharya Narendra Dev Nagar station: It is another option to reach Ayodhya. This small station lies in the heart of the city.
